CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMEMBERS ENDORSE JIMMY GOMEZ

By: Team Gomez

Congressmembers Lucille Roybal-Allard, Linda Sanchez, and Salud Carbajal endorsed Jimmy Gomez in the special election to replace Attorney General Xavier Becerra in Congress.

“Jimmy Gomez has been a passionate, effective advocate for his constituents in the State Assembly. Jimmy’s vision of equity and justice combined with his unique ability to get things done make him the most prepared to hit the ground running in Washington D.C. I enthusiastically support his candidacy and look forward to working with him to represent the people of our region.” – Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40)

“As the son of immigrants, Jimmy Gomez knows that immigration and inclusivity is the fabric of our society. President Trump and the Republicans in Congress do not represent our values and are working to dismantle the progress made over the last eight years. Jimmy has proven himself to be someone who doesn’t shy away from a fight. We need his passion in Washington, D.C. and I am proud to endorse his candidacy.” – Congresswoman Linda Sanchez (CA-38)

“Jimmy Gomez is a proven advocate for working families.  His work to extend paid family leave, ensure access to top quality education and provide safe and healthy communities has made him a leader in California and he is the champion we need to fight for our shared values in Congress.” – Congressman Salud Carbajal (CA-24)

Congresswoman Roybal-Allard’s district shares a geographical boarder with the 34th Congressional District. Additionally, Congresswoman Roybal-Allard’s father—Edward R. Roybal—was a fixture in Los Angeles politics, having served in the City Council from 1949-1962 and Congress from 1963-1993. He represented much of the same area that is within the 34th Congressional District.
